Bio:
Royal Copenhagen was founded in Copenhagen in 1775 under the patronage of Queen Dowager Juliane Marie. The Flora Danica service was begun in 1790 and is regarded as one of the porcelain manufactory’s most significant creations. The service is renowned for its hand-painted porcelain, extensive gilding and demanding craftsmanship. The Juliane Marie mark refers to the manufactory’s historic connection with the Queen Dowager and is found on Flora Danica porcelain.
