Bio:
Alvar Aalto (1898–1976) was a Finnish architect and designer and one of the most influential figures in modern Finnish design. In 1936, his series of organic glass forms won first prize in the Karhula-Iittala design competition, subsequently becoming an international symbol of Finnish design. Aalto's distinctive undulating forms were applied to a wide range of glass objects produced by Iittala and remain among the company's most celebrated designs.
