Bio:
Gunnar Fohlin (1924–1998) was a Swedish painter, printmaker and craftsman who worked across both figurative and abstract modes. He employed a broad range of techniques, including drawing, watercolour, gouache, printmaking and painting on paper. In his abstract works, colour fields, graphic lines, geometric forms and rhythmic composition play a central role, reflecting the development of modernist art in Sweden and Scandinavia during the second half of the twentieth century.
