Bio:
Just Andersen (1884–1943) was a Danish sculptor, craftsman and designer, born in Godhavn, Greenland. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and worked early in his career for prominent Danish silversmithing workshops before establishing his own workshop in 1918. Andersen became known for his sculptural functional objects in bronze, pewter, brass and his distinctive Disko metal. His work combines classical and organic motifs with the stylised geometry characteristic of Danish decorative arts during the interwar period.
