Bio:
Clarice Cliff’s work for Royal Doulton represents a high point of British Art Deco ceramics. Her use of bold colours, rhythmic patterning and modern compositions marked a clear departure from earlier, more traditional decoration. The “Syren” series is a characteristic example of this approach and is today considered one of her more desirable decorative patterns.
