Emile Gallé for Nancy, St Clement. 
A pair of early, large blue-and-white faience candle holders modelled as a seated roaring lion with its tail wrapped around its body, presenting a turret enclosed by foliage with its front paws, on an oval pierced and swirled base.
Handmade,  in underglaze-blue.
Circa 1870.
In excellent condition.
Marked.
