During the 1920s and 1930s he introduced international modernist movements inspired by the artistic environments of Paris and Berlin, including cubism, dada and surrealist tendencies. De Sala became known for his radical artistic persona and provocative role within the Danish art scene, challenging the aesthetic norms of his time.
