He served as artistic director at Rörstrand from 1931 to 1955, where he developed his distinctive matte feldspar glazes, hare’s fur glazes, and the well-known stoneware animal figures. Born in Paris to artist parents, he co-founded the Saxbo studio with Nathalie Krebs before beginning his long association with Rörstrand. He later worked with glass and was also connected with Nymølle.
