By the 1780s, he gained fame for his warm, realistic portrayals of farmers, laborers, and animals, particularly horses and pigs.\u003cbr\u003e      Despite his success, Morland lived recklessly, indulging in drinking, gambling, and excessive spending. His financial troubles led him to produce a high volume of work to pay off debts.
